The food was absolutely delicious. I'm a travel nurse so always want local cuisine vs franchise. I will be back to eat here. Super friendly!

Soul food is in the name and its certainly earned. Located in a small all building on Peach Orchard Rd. In front of the old Winn Dixie lot, sits this little old building. The menu has the standard soul food selections. I went for the oxtails but it turns out the oxtails and chitterlings go first and fast. Diner style seating is available after you receive Ive your food. All meals include a meat, 2 sides and a drink (no diet options available). I decided on smothered pork chops, Mac & Cheese, and collards. How cake bread is available. On top of the serving station were red velvet and key lime cake. I took my items to go. Taste? Everything was delicious and well seasoned. The smothered pork chop was tender and tasty. Im glad I stopped by. Next time I'll go early enough to get those oxtails.

One of the greatest places in town for soul food. The side plate I got which was mac and cheese, black eyed peas, corn with a hoe cake was delicious and it was exactly what I wanted especially trying to eat more vegetables. ;) Overall, this restaurant I highly recommend if your a big fan of soul food. The food here taste almost like mother and grandmother's cooking.

This place is seriously a hidden treasure. I stopped in to grab a vegetable plate for lunch. I got rice with gravy, mac n cheese, green beans, and an extra side of yams. It was absolutely delicious. I wasn't too hungry when I walked in, but once I tasted the food, I ate everything. The two ladies working behind the counter were extremely friendly and welcoming. Even the other customers were friendly. For the quality of food, environment, and awesome cost this place is now top on my list for lunch during the work week. ***Don't expect amazing decor... it's not even needed or noticed once you taste the food and experience the customer service.

I have been to this place a few times within several days. The food is pretty legit. This place has been many restaurants, a fish market years ago and other soul food spots. The fish market lasted longer than the other restaurants did. I would pass this place frequently when I was on this side of town. I kept a mental note that I would check them out one day. So one day I was on social media and an ad for this business came up and their menu as well. They had some soul food staples even chitlins and hog maws!!! I haven't had good chitlins since I was a kid and my grandmother cooked them to perfection. So of course I stopped what I was doing and made a beeline to this restaurant. I knew I wanted chitlins, so that's what I ordered; green beans and dressing as well. It came with a hoecake too. I hadn't ate hoecakes in years!!! Everything was exceptional except the dressing. It was very light but had a good flavor, they need to leave it in the oven much longer. The green beans were out of this world good too!!! They were seasoned to perfection and didn't have a lick of meat in them!!! Some people can't cook vegetables without the help of a piece of meat or a bone. They have a $6.99 special on Tuesdays where every meal is $6.99. That's a pretty good deal. I'm not sure about the prices everyday but I know it a little more on the weekend. You can check their Facebook page daily to see what they will be serving each day. They post it pretty early so it gives you a chance to see if you want what they are cooking that day. They haven't been opened that long but they already have a great following!!! They run out of items within a few hours, so make sure to get there early if you can. They also started a First Friday special where they are open from 9pm to 2am. I think that's a great idea because there are no soul food places open that late unless it's your own kitchen. I also heard rumbling about delivery so I'm sure that will be next. They employees are very friendly and helpful they make you feel like family. They are already familiar with my face and they are always glad to see me!!! This is a solid spot!!!!
